Media Services and Collections

Equipment Loan Service

Media collections and the Media Services Desk are located on the first floor of Christopher Center.

This collection contains over 2,300 sound recordings (CDs, LPs, casette tapes), 1,900 visual recordings (DVDs and VHS tapes), and 1,400 CD-ROMs. The primary purpose of the collection is to support the University's academic program, but many items can also be enjoyed recreationally. The collection is included in our online catalog, GALILEO, which can be searched by title, keyword, subject, author, or performer. Most materials can be checked out for use outside the Christopher Center but in-house listening and viewing equipment are also available. Assistance in using the collection and equipment is available at the nearby Media service desk.

Faculty may also place recordings on reserve for assigned viewing and listening in the Christopher Center. An online form is available to make these requests. To search the items already on reserve, use GALILEO.

The collection also includes archival recordings of selected musical performances by University students and faculty. These recordings are not listed in GALILEO and do not circulate (leave the building).
