The proposed new university library, a Center for Library and Information
Resources, stands at the heart of academic life as it is central to
academic achievement, campus life, and lifelong learning.
It will function as a campus center
for learning, access, and services, building upon the library's traditional
academic role of selecting and organizing information resources and
assisting users. With features such as networked study stations, electronic
classrooms, numerous computer clusters, and full text electronic journal
collections, the center for library and information resources connects
minds with the rest of the world. Warm, inviting public spaces with
comfortable leisure seating and a selection of group study areas enable
the university library to welcome the Valparaiso University community
to its haven for learning and conversation.
Information literacy instruction helps
today's students master the skills they need for tomorrow's workplace
by helping them discover how to learn for a lifetime. With its active
service programs, technology rich features, and comfortable, ergonomic
environment, the university library will be a center for learning
partnerships that achieve results, ideas, and enthusiasm.
