- Established in 1967, Christ College - The Honors College is one of the oldest honors colleges in the United States.
- Valpo has continuously operated a student-initiated Honor System since 1943.
- The University receives consistent national recognitions by publications such as U.S. News & World Report, Princeton Review, and Kiplinger's.
- "International to the Core" as recognized by NAFSA - Association of International Educators. Global orientation is organic in the fabric of the University and crosses all academic colleges. Global learning efforts are also supported through many campus organizations. Valparaiso University received the prestigious Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization in 2008 through NAFSA, and was also a featured university in the organization's 2007 report. Valpo is only the second institution to achieve this status.
