Dual Degree J.D./MBA Applicants – (J.D. students Attend Evening Professional Program with six start dates)

Admission to this program requires acceptance to both the Valparaiso University Law School and the MBA program. These decisions are made independently by the Law School and the MBA Program; admission into one program does not guarantee admission into the other. The MBA is completed in the year following your JD, either in person or remotely via MBA Live.

  • LSAT or GMAT scores: Applicants with LSAT scores of 147 or higher can request a GMAT waiver.  GMAT waivers are issued at the Director’s discretion, based upon undergraduate GPA and work experience.  Request for GMAT waivers should be included in the cover letter.  To request a copy of your LSAC report from the Law School, please complete the Request For Transcripts/LSAC form and send it to mba@valpo.edu.
  • Transcripts: The Law School already has your transcripts from all undergraduate institutions attended.  To request that copies of these transcripts be sent to the MBA Office, please complete the Request For Transcripts/LSAC form and send it to mba@valpo.edu.

International Applicants – One Start Date in August Each Year – We are now accepting applications from F-1 applicants for August 2017.

Valparaiso University welcomes applications from qualified
international students.At present, more than 40 nations are
represented in the University’s student population. Our application requirements and guidelines about the F-1 student visa are summarized below. There is one start date per year in August for the Full-time MBA program; there is no Spring start date. To be considered for admission, here are the application requirements:

  • A Completed Online Application.
  • A $50.00 Online Application Fee
  • Two Online Letters of Recommendation: Complete the online recommendation form and we will contact them directly.
  • Proof of English proficiency: Please use institution code 1874 and your score sheet will be sent to us electronically.  English proficiency may be met with the following:
  • Cover Letter: A one-page personal statement explaining how an MBA will help you meet your career goals.  Email to mba@valpo.edu.
  • Résumé: Email to mba@valpo.edu.
  • Transcript Evaluation: For degrees earned outside the United States, a transcript evaluation is required to verify the validity of documents and determine whether your degree is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree. Applicants from India and China may submit Mark sheets and Diplomas in English directly to the MBA Office at mba@valpo.edu for review.
    For all other applicants, we suggest obtaining a ICAP course-by-course transcript evaluation from World Education Services (WES).  We also accept credential evaluations from firms that are members of AACRAO and NACES.
  • GMAT or GRE scores: We recommend that you study for at least two months.  Valparaiso University’s institution code is 1874.  For citizens of Iraq, the GRE is regularly offered by Amideast.
  • Certification of Finances: This Affidavit form indicates that you have funds available to you to cover the full cost of studying at Valparaiso University.  Please include sponsorship letter or bank statement showing available funds.
  • A copy of a current passport showing your full name and date of birth: Scan and email to mba@valpo.edu.
  • Interview
