Several mathematics faculty participated in Mathfest (an annual meeting of the Mathematical Association of America), August 2012, in Madison, Wiconsin. Among them;
Rick Gillman, Assistant Provost and Professor or Mathematics, participated in the meetings of the Executive Committee and Board of Govenors of the MAA. At one of these meetings, he lead the workshop for the various officers of the 29 geographic sections of the Association.
Zsuzsanna Szaniszlo presented a talk titled "Graph Labeling Problems for Undergraduate Research";
Mindy Capaldi, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, helped organize a panel on teaching interdisciplinary courses for the Project NExT program; attended other workshops sponsored by that program, and gave a presentation on "Transitioning to Teaching Abstract Algebra as IBL" (inquiry-based learning) for a session on best practices of IBL.
Tiffany Kolba, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, participated in faculty development workshops as a part of the funded Project NExT program.
