Hughes Mathematics Competition
The Hughes Mathematics Competition is held annually in memory of Dr. Howard K. Hughes (1899-1976). Professor of Mathematics, Purdue University (1928-1968) and Visiting Professor of Mathematics, Valparaiso University (1968-1971). "The purpose of this competition is to determine the student showing the greatest proficiency in the first four calculus courses."
Challenging but reasonable questions may cover material from calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra. A total of $1,000.00 in prize money is normally awarded each year
