The Northwest Indiana Chapter MATHCOUNTS Competition was held at VU on February 9, 2010. Co-sponsored by the Department and the NWI chapter of the Society of Professional Engineers, this event has been held on campus for thirteen years. Due to snowy weather, only eight of the fourteen registered schols could attend on this day. A makeup comnpetition was held on February 17th for the other six schools.  Between the two days of competition, more than 100 students from area middle schools competed, and more than thirty undergraduate students and faculty volunteered to make the event a success by performing a wide range of tasks.

The participating schools were Krueger MS, Elston MS, Barker MS, Boston MS, Edison Jr. HS, Kahler MS, Wilbur Wright MS, New Prairie Jr., HS, Kesling, Westside, Morgan Towship, Washington Township, Kouts, and Clark.
