Dr. Daniel Maxin will spend the 2011 Summer semester as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as one of the two Early Career Faculty who were selected to participate in the Intensive Mathematics: a Mentoring, Education and Research Summer Experience (IMMERSE) program. IMMERSE has two components; one that prepares undergraduate students who are about to enter their first year of graduate study in mathematics and one that develops the teaching, research, and mentoring skills of graduate students and early career faculty.
During the program Dr. Maxin will be responsible for designing and teaching an introductory Real Analysis course to the undergraduate students admitted to IMMERSE and, at the same time, will work with a senior UNL faculty member in a research project of common interest.
