Don’t Touch Me: A Slam Poetry Program

Presenter 3: Layla Mooradian ’18, Claire Mammoser ’18, and Katelyn Merritt ’17

Abstract: Our piece will relate to justice and society due to the way that society views both the perpetrators of sexual assault but also its victims. Oftentimes, sentences are handed down that don’t seem just (such as Brock Turner). Additionally, sometimes victims are blamed for the events. This idea of justice, or lack thereof, is indicative of a larger societal issue.
