Bruce Evans is instructor of jazz bass and contrabass, and has been on the VU faculty for more than twenty years. He received a B.M.E. from Defiance University and an M.M.E. from Roosevelt University, where he studied with Harold Siegal. He currently is a band and orchestra director in the Gary (IN) School System. Along with his VU music colleagues, William Foster and Jeffrey C. Brown, he performs regularly as a member of the VU Faculty Jazz Trio, as well as with other professional jazz ensembles in the region. He and his wife Bobbie live in Valparaiso.
