A mezzo soprano, she has been a soloist with numerous musical organizations in the Chicago and greater Midwest area and sung professionally with both the Lryic Opera Chorus and Chicago Symphony Chorus. On the Valparaiso University campus she has performed as soloist with the Symphony Orchestra and Choral Society, the Concert Choir, and the University Theatre Department, as well as appearing in numerous faculty solo and chamber recitals. Feature performances on the Valparaiso University campus include the alto solos in Bach's St John Passion, the Brahms Alto Rhapsody with orchestra and men's choir, and the role of Madame Armfeldt in Sondheim's A Little Night Music. Dr. Lewis has directed choirs and operas and taught a variety of music courses including theory, musicianship and conducting, as well as interdisciplinary courses in music business, music education and integrative arts.
