Auditions for Music Scholarships:

On-campus auditions are held on two Saturdays in February. On-campus auditions are arranged by prior appointment with the Department of Music Office and are held on:

Students auditioning for a music scholarship are considered for the music major at the same audition. Students not auditioning for scholarships who wish to be music majors may audition for acceptance into the major on an individual basis by prior appointment with the Department of Music office. Acceptance into the major requires a performance audition, a brief theory assessment exam, and a letter of recommendation from a music teacher.

Auditions for membership in VU Performing Ensembles:

Membership in Ensembles is based on auditions held at the beginning of each school year. The February auditions and auditions for acceptance into the music major do not take the place of ensemble auditions. New students have plenty of opportunity to schedule auditions during "Welcome Days" in August.

high school graduation, and what (generally) you are interested in knowing
about (music major? music as elective study while majoring in something
else?). Also, tell us your performing area (violin, trumpet, voice, piano, etc.)
