Virginia Oram, mezzo soprano, of the Valparaiso University voice studio faculty, graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University. She earned a Master of Music in Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music where she was awarded an opera fellowship and performed with the Eastman Opera Theatre. Her teachers there included Julius Huehn and Josephine Antoine. Since moving to Valparaiso in 1983 she has performed with the VU Opera Workshop and has been a soloist with the VU Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band, and Choral Society. She has appeared as a soloist with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and as a guest artist with Indiana Opera North. An active recitalist, she is also active in coaching and musical direction of community musical theatre.
