![]() | James KonsbruckAdjunct InstructorVUCA 2515 BiographyGuitarist Jim Konsbruck joined the Valparaiso University music faculty in the spring of 2004. He is a graduate of Columbia College in Chicago and received a Master of Music degree from the Music Conservatory at Roosevelt University, where he studied under Paul Henry. In 1998, he participated in the International Festival de la Guitarra in Cordoba, Spain, where he studied in masterclasses with Manuel Barrueco and Pepe Romero. Jim has also performed in masterclasses with Sergio Assad, Fabio Zanon, and Dennis Azabagic. Also an active teacher in the Chicago area, Jim is the owner and director of the Northwest Music School, a unique music facility in Mt. Prospect, IL that combines an extensive teaching program with a performance venue and recording studio. Previous teaching positions include Dominican University in River Forest, IL., Oakton Community College’s Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL) program in Des Plaines, IL., and Niles West High School in Skokie, IL. Jim has also taught for the National Guitar Workshop at their summer music program in Chicago. |
