![]() | Virginia OramAdjunct InstructorVUCA 2509 BiographyVirginia Oram, mezzo-soprano, of the Valparaiso University voice studio faculty, graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University, and studied with Julius Huehn and Josephine Antoine at the Eastman School of Music, earning her Master of Music in Performance and Literature. Her first love is opera; she has performed with the Eastman Opera Theatre, Opera Under the Stars, the Chautauqua Opera Association, and Indiana Opera North, among other venues. She has had many lead roles in both professional and amateur musical theatre, and has served as coach or musical director in several community theatre musicals. Virginia has given numerous recitals at Valpo. Her solo performances include appearances with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the VU Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band, Choral Society and the Bach Insiute at Valparaiso University, the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, the Chautauqua Institution Motet Choir, and the Camerata Singers. |
