This Grammy Award-winning Men's A Cappella Ensemble from the west coast will be kicking off the Choral Concert Series with a fun and lively performance that shouldn't be missed! Chanticleer is known around the world as "an orchestra of voices" for the seamless blend of its twelve male voices ranging from countertenor to bass and its original interpretations of vocal literature, from Renaissance to jazz, and from gospel to venturesome new music.

The Vienna Boys' Choir is one of the world's most renowned boy's choirs and has been established for more than 500 years. They are best known for their exceedingly high vocal standards and give approximately 300 concerts annually across the globe.

The Carol Festival is a seasonal celebration, which will feature classic Christmas carols. Performing groups will include Valparaiso University Chorale, conducted by Christopher M. Cock, Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dennis Friesen-Carper, Chamber Concert Band conducted by Jeffrey Scott Doebler, Women's Choir conducted by Maura Janton Cock and Men's Choir conducted by Christopher M. Cock.

St. Matthew Passion

The monumental St. Matthew Passion is presented by the Bach Institute with guest conductor, Hermann Max, Music Director of the Rheinische Kantorei and Das Kleine Konzert and 2008 Recipient of the Bach Medal, awarded by the city of Leipzig, Germany. Valpo's own Christopher M. Cock will sing the Evangelist, a role for which he is known nationally and internationally. Valpo music faculty member Ralph Klapis will sing the role of Jesus. The Valparaiso University Chorale, Bach Choir, and VU Symphony Orchestra will serve as the performing forces, along with members of the Valpo Music faculty.

Symphony No. 2 "Resurrection"

Featuring the Valparaiso University Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dennis Friesen-Carper. The work will serve as a culminating event of the 50th anniversary celebration of VU's iconic Chapel of the Resurrection. Symphony No. 2 is a landmark work in the history of any professional or university performing community, and its choral finale is one of the most thrilling and deeply moving moments in the symphonic repertoire.  The performance will feature 250 performers that are made up of current Valpo students, faculty, alumni, and professional musicians from the NW Indiana and Chicagoland community.
