The 48-voice Valparaiso University Chorale, under the direction of Christopher M. Cock, is the premier ensemble of Valpo and upholds the highest standards of choral art through the performance of the greatest choral literature of all eras. This spring's tour will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the death of Handel by performing Coronation Anthem #3: The King Shall Rejoice, Ralph Vaughan Williams' magisterial motet, Lord, thou hast been our refuge, Latin motets by Frank Ferko, Poulenc and Josquin, and Einojuhani Rautaavara's stirring composition, Lorca Suite. Also included, are a group of love songs, including Eric Whitacre's A Boy and a Girl, and Loch Lomond. Traditional hymns and spirituals will round out the program.
Chorale's tour will end with a performance at Carnegie Hall, Monday, March 30th at 8 p.m.

The spring tour of Valparaiso University Kantorei, under the direction of Lorraine Brugh, will perform music for the Lenten season from around the globe. The choir will perform a psalm from Kenya, a prayer for peace from Israel, African American spirituals, as well as many traditional hymns and anthems. The Kantorei regularly lead worship on Valparaiso University’s campus and assists the worshiping community in learning liturgies and hymns in classical, gospel, contemporary and global styles. Kantorei has helped to introduce Evangelical Lutheran Worship and Lutheran Service Book, the new worship resources of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in American and Luther Church - Missouri Synod to many congregations and synod gatherings.
Kantorei's tour will end with a performance at Severance Hall for the annual Hymnfest. The event will take place Friday, March 6th.
