We are seeking outstanding young musicians to audition at Valparaiso University. The Signature Artist, Forte, and Vivace Scholraships are part of Valparaiso University's commitment to train some of the finest collegiate musicians in the United States.
Signature Artist Scholarships: To support talented and committed young performers in preparing for musical professions. Prospective Music Majors only. Required on-campus audition by invitation only, based upon an application and pre-screening process. (Up to full tuition)
Auditions for Signature Artist Awards:
Sunday, November 14, 2010, with an October 25 deadline for application; audition finalists will be notified by October 29.
Saturday, February 19, 2011, with a January 31 deadline for application; audition finalists will be notified by February 4.
Forte Scholarships: To support talented music majors and qualified non-music majors for leadership roles in departmental performing ensembles
Vivace Scholarships: To support active student musicians from any major in continuing their private lesson studies and ensemble participation at Valparaiso University
Auditions for Forte and Vivace Music Awards:
Deadline for application: January 31, 2011
Audition dates for 2011: Saturday, February 5; Saturday, February 12; and Monday, February 21

Auditions for Music Scholarships: The Music Faculty will hear on-campus auditions and consider video auditions only for students who have completed their applications for admission to Valparaiso University. Deadline to request a music scholarship audition is February 4, 2011.
On-campus auditions are arranged by prior appointment with the Department of Music Office and are held Saturday, February 12, 2011 & Saturday, February 19, 2011. Auditions are also accepted via video (VHS or digital media file), prepared according to guidelines provided. Deadline for receiving auditions in video recorded form is February 18, 2011.
Auditions for membership in Valpo Performing Ensembles: Membership in Ensembles is based on auditions held at the beginning of each school year. The February auditions and auditions for acceptance into the music major do not take the place of ensemble auditions. New students have plenty of opportunity to schedule auditions during "Welcome Days" in August.
