The Signature Artist, Forte, and Vivace Scholarships support Valparaiso University's commitment to train some of the finest collegiate musicians in the United States.
 
Signature Artist Scholarships: To support committed young performing artists in preparing for musical professions. Prospective Music Majors only. Required on-campus audition by invitation only, based upon an application and pre-screening process.  (Up to full tuition)
 
Auditions for Signature Artist Awards:
Sunday, November 6, 2011, with an October 17 deadline for application; audition finalists will be notified by October 21.
Saturday, February 18, 2012, with a January 30 deadline for application; audition finalists will be notified by February 3.
 
Forte Scholarships: To support talented music majors and qualified non-music majors for leadership roles in departmental performing ensembles

Vivace Scholarships: To support active student musicians from any major in continuing their private lesson studies and ensemble participation at Valparaiso University
 
Auditions for Forte and Vivace Music Awards:
Deadline for application: January 30, 2012
Audition dates for 2012: Saturday, February 11 and Monday, February 20
Students who are unable to audition on-campus may submit a video audition by Friday, February 17.

Auditions for acceptance into the Music Major: Students auditioning for a music scholarship are considered for the music major at the same audition.  Acceptance into the major requires a performance audition, a brief theory assessment exam, and a letter of recommendation from a music teacher. 

Auditions for membership in Valpo Performing Ensembles: Membership in ensembles is based on auditions held at the beginning of each school year. The February auditions and auditions for acceptance into the music major do not take the place of ensemble auditions. New students will have opportunity to schedule auditions during "Welcome Days" in August.
