Joyce. S. Hagen is the midwest regional president for five healthplans in the Midwest, with over 400,000 members, and revenues exceeding $1.4 billion. She served as president of Passport Healthplan for the preceding ten years, achieving U.S. News and World Report's #9 ranking, nationally, for a Medicaid plan in 2008. Hagen was a national consultant in health care both independently, and with Ernst and Young in Chicago, and was a senior officer at Blue Cross of Kentucky, where she served as chief executive officer for their PPO programs. Hagen has been the recipient of numerous awards including the River City Business and Professional Women's 2001 Woman of the Year Achievement Award and the 2006 Community Health Leadership Award. After serving eight years as a University of Louisville board trustee, she was appointed to the university's foundation board, and has served as treasurer for 3 years. She also serves on the Bellarmine University Board and the Louisville Opera Board. After receiving her B.S.N. degree from Valparaiso University in 1979, Hagen earned her M.B.A. degree from Domincan University in 1984.
