Arthur A. Knueppel, retired chief executive officer and president of St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, MI, received his B.A. degree in history from Valparaiso University in 1966. He received a masters’ degree in health administration from the University of Michigan in 1968. Knueppel, now retired, has been involved with many activities including service as chair of the Michigan Health and Hospital Association in 1988 and chair of “Citizens for a Healthy Michigan” (tobacco ballet proposal) 2002. He was president of St. Lawrence Hospital and Healthcare System from 1985 to 1998, and interim president of Battle Creek Healthcare Systems in 1999. Knueppel served as chief administrative officer for the U.S. Public Health Service Indian Hospital in South Dakota from 1966 to 1968.
