INDIAN HEALTH SERVICE

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF HISPANIC NURSES

NAHN awards $2,000 annually to students earning a master's degree in a maternal-child nursing program and $1,000 to student members enrolled in any level nursing program, including baccalaureate.  http://www.thehispanicnurses.org/

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NEONATAL NURSES

NURSE LOAN REPAYMENT AND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

BAPTIST MEMORIAL HEALTH CARE GRANTS

Baptist Memorial Health Care in Memphis will award $1 million in educational grants to nursing and allied health students within the next year. The grant program will cover the last 2 years of tuition for full-time students enrolled in a 4-year program and both years for students enrolled in a 2-year program. Students, including Baptist employees and family members, must already by accepted to an approved program or school and agree to work for Baptist after graduation to qualify for a grant. LAKELAND HEALTH & HEALING SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS

Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph, MI, provides several scholarships and grants for educational opportunities to ensure that Lakeland associates, volunteers, auxilians, and members of the community are equipped with the knowledge to give the best and most advanced health care. The Allan and Vera Buckalew Memorial Nursing Scholarship assists Lakeland Hospital associates or volunteers who are in the final year of a RN curriculum or to RN's pursuing advanced nursing education. The Frederick S. Upton Memorial Nursing scholarship supports Lakeland Hospital associates or volunteers who are entering their last year of a RN curriculum. The James W. Tiscornia Memorial Nursing Scholarship, established in 1992, supports Lakeland associates in the beginning of their second, third, or fourth year of a RN curriculum. The Whirlpool Foundation Nursing Scholarship, established in 1991, assists Lakeland Hospital volunteers or associates who are in their last year of a RN curriculum. Student nurse tech's are also eligible to apply for scholarships.

To qualify for a scholarship, students must demonstrate academic excellence in their field of study and carry a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Additional eligibility criteria are stated with each scholarship. To apply for a scholarship or grant, applicants must complete an application prior to May 1 of each year. Applicants must also submit high school and/or college transcripts and 2 letter of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or administrators who are aware of the applicant's academic standing.
