The Valparaiso University Alumni Association (VUAA) offers faculty at Valparaiso the opportunity and support to pursue terminal degrees, advance post-graduate research, and continue their education at conferences and seminars through its Faculty Development Awards.
The amount of the award depends upon the project. A total of $5,000 is available, but not all of it need be awarded. The pursuit of terminal degrees and post-graduate research will receive priority consideration with a maximum award of $2,500. The maximum award for continuing education at conferences and seminars is $500 for domestic programming and $1,000 for foreign. Lesser amounts may also be awarded.
Applicants must be full-time members of the teaching faculty who have completed at least one academic year at Valpo. Faculty who also occupy administrtive positions are not eligible. Previous winners are eligible if at least five years have passed since their last award.
Members of the VUAA Board of Directors will review this information at their spring meeting and the recipients for the year 2001 will be selected at that time. Award recipients will be notified by May 1, and funds will be made available in July 2001.
