Identify contaminated properties

Training University Students

Valparaiso University students under the guidance of Dr. Jon Schoer, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and John Casey of GreenTree Environmental began training students to conduct in-home testing to determine the existence and extent of lead contamination. Testing of neighborhood homes will begin by the Summer of 2005.

Once contaminated properties have been identified, training sessions will be held to repair or remove existing lead contamination problems in the Neighborhood. Neighborhood residents and homeowners will be trained to perform basic remediation, and residents will be given information about how to find more assistance with removing existing hazards.
