Grantseeking Workshop Series The workshop series for VU faculty and staff is sponsored by the Lumina Center, the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Christopher Center for Library and Information Resources, and the Teaching Resource Center. Presenters include Sandy McMullen, Lumina Center Director; Kathy Groth, Corporations and Foundations Coordinator; and Rick AmRhein, Dean of Library Services. Other topic-specific presenters and guest speakers will also be featured in the series. Advance registration is required for all workshops and attendance is limited to VU faculty and staff. This workshop will focus on identifying private funding sources for faculty projects and campus programs. The hands-on workshop will focus on finding census data from American FactFinder. Participants will explore American Community Survey and other U.S. Census products, as well as learn how to compile detailed tables and make geographic comparisons. and staff who will be preparing program budgets or who just want to learn
more about the basics of budgeting. Sample budgets will be provided for
in-class discussion and exercises.
