I'm Ginger Zee. Not just a weather girl, but a weather geek…with a title: Weekend Meteorologist for NBC 5. 18 months of weekend double shifts, holidays, weekday fill-in - and my favorite - my fire for our 'Going Green' environmental reports. I'm an Adjunct Professor at my Alma matter Valparaiso…but instead of teaching the science, I am teaching the science of making weather come to life and make sense on television. At this years NWA Conference, that is exactly what I will be talking about. My job - how I take my passion for the science to the broadcast side. I'll talk about my journey and bring you along (virtually) through a crazy day at NBC 5 in Chicago. In the last five years I have gone from interning with Tom Skilling to working in the same market! It's been an incredible journey and I can't wait to share.
