The University Council addresses issues of concern to the entire campus community.
Membership
The University Council shall consist of fifty four (54) members, composed of twenty six (26) faculty members from the Faculty Senate, thirteen (13) undergraduate student representatives (twelve (12) elected by the Student Senate and the Student Body President ex officio), one (1) law student, thirteen (13) staff and administration representatives elected from among representative constituencies, and the President of the University ex officio.
Regular Meetings
Regular meetings of the University Council shall be scheduled at least once a month during the academic year on the day of the month to be established each year in the organizational meeting of the Council. The Agenda Committee may, however, cancel a regular meeting if it agrees, with none of its members dissenting, that there are not sufficient or urgent enough committee recommendations to warrant meeting and if its chair has not received ten days prior to a regular meeting date a written notice from a Council member that he or she wishes personally to introduce an item of business at the scheduled meeting.
