GOING THE EXTRA MILE TO MAKE SOMEONE SMILE!!

 

The ACE program is a brand new volunteer experience offered by the Office of Volunteer Programs! The program is designed to have students help connect other students, faculty, and staff members to volunteer agencies in the greater Valpo community! Each ACE will be in charge of a specific volunteer topic area: Youth Progams, Social Justice, Elederly Programs, Education & Enrichment, Environmental Programs, and VU Volunteer Opportunities.

Some key traits that ACE team members should possess are:

Self Motivated    Knowledge of topic

Experienced Volunteer    Knowledge of VU

Outgoing    Dedicated    Quick Learner

Activator    Responsible

Time commitments to be and ACE include:

- Serve 5 hours per week in the Union (between 9am - 5pm).

- Must create and implement two campus wide volunteer.   opportunities for you topic per area per semester.

- On-sites visits are required once every other week but count toward your total hours.

- Create connection between faculty and students to group topic.

- Must be available to help with VU Day of Caring and National Volunteer Week activities.

- Night, evening, or weekend work may be required but on event days only

Applicants must fulfill the following:

-Freshman-Senior standing

- Minimum of a 2.75 cumulative GPA

- Must be taking less than 18 credits
