The Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County is a guidance-based organization for youth ranging from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Programs are designed to provide reinforcement of the skills and concepts that are being developed in school with programs that are age specific. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County offers a broad range of after school programs in five core areas: Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Fine Arts; Health and Life Skills; and Sports Fitness, and Recreation.

Building Up Girls is a teen mentoring program sponsored by the Mental Health Association in Porter County where local middle school girls are paired with local high school and college girls.  The pairs are expected to spend at least one hour a week together.  In addition to the one on one meetings, all the girls are required to attend monthly workshops (covering topics such as body image, self-esteem, friendships and personal safety).

The Youth Service Bureau Big Brothers Big Sisters of LaPorte County was created in 1972 and continues to provide programs and services aimed at delinquency prevention, child abuse prevention, youth development and advocacy, and connecting youth to caring adults. Kids on the Block, Teen Court, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and P.A.S.S. are some of YSB's current programs.
