Are you itching for new and exciting activities on campus,
in the community and around the country? Do you want to make a difference
in the lives of others and your own? Do you thirst for fun and service?
The Office of Volunteer Programs has all of this and more.
The Office of Volunteer Programs is located in the Union, Room 407.
Do you enjoy working with
children, doing yard work, or spending time with senior citizens?
How will your VOICE be heard? Volunteer Opportunities in Community
Engagement, commonly known as V.O.I.C.E, is a student-led, student-run
organization that encourages and empowers students to find their
service niche, or VOICE, in order to become actively involved in
their campus, community and world.
To find out about the
many opportunities available for you in volunteering, you can attend
a V.O.I.C.E. meeting, you can visit the Porter County United Way
web site (on our links page), or you can stop by the Volunteer Programs
Office in the Union.
V.O.I.C.E. provides Valparaiso
University students with volunteer opportunities caring for children,
spending time with the elderly, doing helpful chores and tasks for
others, and fundraising opportunities. This spring, V.O.I.C.E. is
putting on a Relay for Life for Kids that creates many opportunities
for service in addition to our regular activities. Come to a V.O.I.C.E.
meeting to find out what opportunities we have in store each week!
At each meeting, a schedule
of upcoming service events is given and it is up to you to decide
which ones you would like to attend. Meetings are not mandatory
for membership in V.O.I.C.E.
Transportation arrangements
are provided for each V.O.I.C.E. event. Don't let that hold you
back!
