Valparaiso University is a comprehensive university with a Lutheran heritage that enrolls 4,000 students on its campus 55 miles southeast of Chicago in Northwest Indiana. Identified as one of the top master’s level institutions in the Midwest by U.S. News & World Report magazine for the past 20 years and regularly cited for its value, Valparaiso University was named by the magazine as a university “everyone should be watching.”
The colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering, and Nursing offer more than 80 academic programs. Valparaiso University also has a distinguished honors college (Christ College), Division of Graduate and Continuing Education and School of Law. The University has a faculty of more than 220, approximately 90 percent of whom hold the Ph.D. or terminal degree in their field. Valparaiso sponsors numerous international study opportunities and has been recognized as a model in preparing graduates with strong cross-cultural skills and global awareness, winning the Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization in 2008.
