ABSTRACT SUBMISSION FORM

In order to enter the Celebration of Undergraduate Scholarship (CUS), please submit an abstract of your work.  The guidelines for submitting an abstract are below along with a link to an online submission form.

The CUS features the scholarly or creative work of Valpo students.  Each student displays his/her project in a poster format throughout the day of the event.  Poster presentations are required for all projects, even for those students selected to give oral presentations.

Please submit the following information about your work using the online form.

Your registration as a poster presenter carries with it a commitment to be available at key times on the day of the CUS. The most important time to be present is during judging from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. If possible but not required, please be present during the open viewing times from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Please list the blocks of time you or team members will be available to stand by your poster and talk to interested viewers.

What is the title of your poster? The title should summarize the main idea of your project. The title should be a simple, concise statement that identifies the actual problem, variables, and or theoretical issues addressed in your project and should be fully explanatory when standing alone. Recommended length is 12-15 words.

Type your abstact here (max 200 words). Convey the central idea of your project. Provide information to include the background, significance of the problem, purpose, hypothesis or questions, theoretical or conceptual foundations, procedure for collection and analysis of data, main findings and conclusions. Maximum length is 200 words.

Give a biographical sketch of the author(s) (max 75 words one author or total 150 words multiple authors). Share any information that provides insights into your selection of this project. Highlight previous experience related to the problem, educational background, current pursuits, future goals, and how you became interested in the topic. Maximum length is 75 words for one author and 150 words for multiple authors.
