Continuing Education & Dual Enrollment
Valparaiso University offers a variety of options for high school students through retirees to engage in coursework for credit, or non-credit learning groups, outside of the more traditional degree pathways.
College Experience Dual Enrollment Program
The College Experience Dual Enrollment Program is an opportunity for high school sophomores through seniors to earn both high school and college credit at the same time by taking Valparaiso University courses for dual credit. Students work with their high school to determine how the coursework meets high school graduation requirements and, upon successful completion of a course, receive college credit from Valparaiso University. This is a great way to try out college classes at a special low tuition rate to get a head start on college and see if Valpo is the place to continue your undergraduate studies beyond high school.
Continuing Education Non-Degree
Continuing Education provides a pathway to complete undergraduate courses for academic credit as a non-degree student. This is a great option if you have a bachelor’s degree but need a few additional courses to prepare for graduate or professional school, or for purposes of personal enrichment. If you are a current student at another college seeking to transfer credit earned through Valpo back to the degree program at your current institution, please submit the undergraduate visiting student application instead.
SAGE
The Senior Adult Growth through Education (SAGE) program provides a pathway for persons 60 and older, and/or retired, to audit undergraduate or graduate courses on a space-available basis at a special low tuition and fee rate.
VOLTS
Valparaiso Organization for Learning and Teaching Seniors (VOLTS) is a non-credit learning group for persons 60 and older. Programs may include guest speakers and lecturers, discussion of current events, and/or presentations by VU faculty or other professionals.
