Jamie Stangel, M.S.

BiographyProfessor Stangel is a 2006 graduate of Valparaiso University with a B.S. in Sport Communications and member of the Women's Basketball team. She served as the Valparaiso Women's Basketball Graduate Assistant Coach during the 2006-2007 season, and earned her M.S. in Sport Administration in 2007. After serving in such roles as ESPN Radio 1000 production intern, Purdue University North Central (Westville, IN) Coordinator of Activities and Athletics, and Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Edgewood College (Madison, WI), she has returned to Valparaiso to serve as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Kinesiology. In this role, she teaches undergraduate sport management classes such as Theory and Principles of Sport Management, Coaching Theory, Governance in Sport, Sport and Society, Facility Management and Development, and Sport Marketing and Promotions. Professor Stangel is a professional member of the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) and is currently pursuing her PhD in Sport Leadership from Concordia University in Chicago.
