Every summer, many of our physics majors enjoy the opportunity to work with faculty at VU and elsewhere on cutting-edge physics and astronomy research. There is a stipend and free housing, but more importantly, students get a taste of what it's like to do research. Graduate schools look very favorably on students who have successfully done independent research and jobs in industry require good laboratory and reporting skills. So, if this sounds interesting to you, check out the links below for available positions, what students have done in previous years, and how you can get involved.
