Fall Astronomy Day, Saturday, October 8, 2011
Schedule
3:00 - 5:00 pm: Hands-on astronomy activities for students in grades 4 - 9. Registration is required (see below)
- Viewing the Sun through a solar telescope (if clear)
- Touring the Fall night sky in the VU planetarium
- Building your own Galileoscope (a 2-inch refracting telescope) OR
- Building your own model solar system. [More details will be sent to registrants or may be requested by e-mailing Prof. Todd Hillwig at Todd.Hillwig at valpo.edu - students who have previously participated in one of these activities will be placed in the other activity.]
