Michael Essany, Valparaiso University 2005 Political Science graduate, started hosting his own reality TV show from his home in Valparaiso and it grew into a multimillion dollar project that soon became one of the most talked about shows in America. Andy Baker, Valparaiso University 1994 graduate, is an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder. In his book, The Market and the Masses in Latin America,Baker reveals that most Latin American citizens are enthusiastic about globalization because it has lowered the prices of many consumer goods and services. The book is considered a major contribution to the study of the politics of market reform in Latin America and shares how scholars and policymakers should understand the influence of public opinion on economic policy in Latin America.
