Heckler Family

Mark and Veronica Heckler were married in May 1978. They grew up together in Windber, Pa., a small coal-mining town east of Pittsburgh, and began dating after becoming better acquainted through high-school marching band (he played four instruments and she was captain of the color guard). They were married while Mark was enrolled in graduate school.

Mark and Veronica have four children and nine grandchildren.

Zachary Heckler is an entrepreneur and owner of Aspire Network Solutions, a customized software design and on-site technical solutions company based in Denver, Colo. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado Denver with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. Zachary and his wife, Courtney Allison, live in Denver. They are the proud parents of Katherine Allison Heckler.

Jocelyn Earnest Heckler, who has a bachelor of arts degree in poetry from Colorado College, graduated in December 2007 from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a master’s degree in English literature. She and her husband, Evan Earnest Heckler, reside in Houston, Texas, where Evan works as a scientist in the research and development unit at Chevron and Jocelyn cares for their toddler, Ayda Lynn Earnest.

Miranda Heckler earned a bachelor of arts degree in English and secondary education from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and a master’s degree in communications and English from Valparaiso University. She met her husband, Clifford Jack, while both were attending Valpo. The couple resides in Lafayette, Ind., where Cliff is enrolled in a Ph.D. program in education. Miranda teaches in Valpo’s CORE program and in the English and communication departments.

Susanne Heckler graduated in 2009 with bachelor of arts degrees in international affairs and environmental studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Valparaiso University Law School in May 2013 and now serves as a clerk to Federal Magistrate Judge Tim Baker (also a Valpo grad) in Indianapolis.
