The Strategic Plan for Valparaiso University charts the course of this remarkable institution for the next two decades. In essence, it serves as Valpo’s GPS as we head into the uncharted waters of tomorrow.
The plan is the result of the hard work of more than a thousand individuals — students, faculty and staff, alumni, friends of the University, and community members. The process of building the plan began more than two years ago with our visioning process. It culminated this past fall with the approval of the Strategic Plan by the Valparaiso University Board of Directors.
Now comes the fun part — making it happen!
The plan enhances an already compelling and distinctive educational experience while instilling in our graduates a deep understanding of their calling in life. It strengthens our Lutheran identity and fosters inter-religious dialogue. The plan will broaden Valpo’s reach and impact while deepening faculty, staff, student, and alumni commitment. It will promote a sense of lifelong belonging among our graduates, and ensure our campus remains financially and environmentally sustainable.
To celebrate the release of the strategic plan, which we have called “Our Common Pursuit: Valpo’s Call to Lead and Serve for the Next Generation,” seven events have been organized across the Midwest during the months of March and April. I hope you will take the time to attend one of these events. Each provides an opportunity to hear firsthand what the Strategic Plan means for Valparaiso University, our students, the greater community, and, of course, you.
Valparaiso University will move both forward into new waters and remain true to our identity and mission. But we cannot do it without your partnership. You are critical to the future of our University. Please come and learn why.
