Dr. Cooper joined the faculty in 1987. He currently serves the University as Director of the Student Counseling and Development Center and as an Associate Professor with the Psychology Department. Dr. Cooper's professional development has followed the Scientist/Practitioner model of combining teaching and research with clinical practice. His teaching expertise is in the areas of behavior modification, treatment of addictive disorders, marital and sex therapy, career counseling, and counselor training. Dr. Cooper has many publications and conference presentations using applied multivariate research analyses and models with clinical and developmental issues of college students. He is the national chair of the College Counseling Center Special Interest Group within the Counseling Psychology Division of the American Psychological Association. For fun and recreation, Dr. Cooper enjoys physical activities such as running, racquetball,swimming and basketball. He is a big fan of contemporary jazz.
