Navigational Hints and Instructions for Class Seat Availability Reports TXT

Please check the report often before you register for classes. If a class you desire appears to be filling up quickly, you should indicate alternate classes on your registration form. 

The report will be arranged in the following manner:

Section Name
Short Title
Start/End Date    Bldg Room     Meth Days     Start/End time
Capacity   (This will be the capacity, IF ANY, of the section)
Every Student Count (This will be the seats already TAKEN in pre-registration)
SEATS (This will be the seats AVAILABLE IF THERE IS A CAPACITY LIMIT)

NOTE:  The computer also allows departments to choose Unlimited Registration, setting NO capacity. When a section has Unlimited Registration, it is signified with
 - a blank line for Capacity
 - Every Student Count will either be zero (0) or a positive number (X)
- SEATS will either be zero (0) or a negative number (-X)

           When you see this pattern occur, you are encouraged to register
           for the section.

First example: The section has a Capacity and seats are still available:

To allow for different browsers' capabilities, we have attempted to keep the
report as simple as possible.  Classes are listed in departmental
abbreviation alphabetical order.

*We suggest you use the Find function to manuveur around this report.
If you are using the Netscape browser, you can use the Find function to locate
specific text:

     Choose Edit, then choose Find in Page.

     You will then be able to type in a department name (example: core) and
     the CORE classes will be displayed for you.
     This function is not case sensitive.

(You can also use your right scrollbar to quickly scroll up and down the report.)

*If you would like to print only a section, you can use your mouse to highlight
the information to print:

     Choose Edit,

     then choose Copy to copy this data to your Notepad or Word document, etc.
     From here, you can print out the desired information.
 
If you are using the Netscape browser, you can use the Decrease Font to
make all columns appear on your screen at the same time:

Choose View, then choose Decrease Font.

You may use this as many times as necessary to make the screen easier for you to read.
