Carlos Miguel-Pueyo, Ph.D. associate professor of foreign languages and literatures, was recently invited to participate at the international conference “Enrique Gil y Carrasco y el Romanticismo,” where he served as member of the scientific committee, as well as member of the inaugural panel. Sponsored by UNESCO and 27 other universities in the world, Professor Miguel-Pueyo studied the author’s poetic language as a dialogue with the “sublime, concluding that Gil y Carrasco creates a new vision of the sublime based on the minimal components of Nature, which constitutes one of the finest and most crucial basic elements of the future Modern poetry.” Professor Miguel-Pueyo is currently preparing his third book, titled “El color del Modernismo Hispánico,” in which he will analyze the poetic language of poets from Spain and Latin America.
