The Office of Residential Life is beginning its Online Room Selection process for Fall 2012!

If you are planning to live on or off-campus during the 2012-2013 academic year, you must follow these instructions. Please note that ALL current on-campus students must complete the following steps regardless whether or not they will be returning to on-campus housing next year.

Go online to SIGN UP for or CANCEL housing at the site above. You may also choose your roommate(s) now.	Go online and SELECT the room you want during your appointment time if you signed up for housing in February.

 

Housing Reservation / Re-Application for Fall 2012

Instructions:

1.   Go to the site above to indicate if you are living on-campus or planning to live off-campus for the 2012-2013 academic year. All students need to respond, even if they are living off-campus next year. In this form, you can also request a specific roommate (if applicable), who needs to also request you for you both to be placed together.

2.   After you enter your information, which is due by Friday, March 2nd, our office will send an appointment time in March for you to pick your specific room if you need on-campus housing.

3.   If you cannot make your appointment time when it is set, please pick a proxy person to choose your room for you, or indicate you want Residential Life to choose your room and building (that you preference).

4.   NOTE: if you are part of a specific group that gets placed earlier than March (for example, Sororities, Resident Assistants, Living Learning Communities, etc.) you need to follow the steps above and receive instructions afterward.

5.   All students are able to see available rooms through the Online Room Selection website. All room availability is subject to change.

Living-Learning Communities

We have some on-campus residential opportunities, please see our descriptions for this information on our website, and if you’re interested in applying to any of these communities, please visit at www.valpo.edu/reslife starting on Monday, February 6 and fill out the Living Learning Community Application Form by Friday, February 17, 2012. If you are having any issues with the form, please contact us.

Valparaiso University’s Office of Residential Life is excited to offer upper-class students the option to live in The Uptown East Apartments for the 2012 – 2013 academic year.

The units include furnished suite-style apartments for two, three or four students. Students will benefit from other amenities including private bathrooms for each bedroom, a washer and dryer in each unit, internet service (not a part of the University’s network) including wireless service in the common areas of each unit. The Facility also includes a small DVD theatre, group study rooms, a computer room, and a common fitness center and game room.

 

There will be a special room selection process for seniors and juniors who desire to live in these apartments. To apply to live in the Uptown East Apartments, please follow the link below to complete the online application.

Uptown East Apartment Application 2012-2013

The Residence Halls will close for Spring Break on:
Saturday, March 3rd, 2012 at 12:00pm (noon) CDT.

Students MUST VACATE the buildings by this time. Limited Break Housing is available in Brandt Hall, Wehrenberg Hall, and Uptown East who meet the following criteria:

1. International or INTERLINK Students

2. VU athletes in mid-season with practice and/or games over break

3. Students whose home is 500 or more miles from Valparaiso

4. Students participating in a credit-bearing activity such as student teaching, internship, or co-op

(Students ARE NOT automatically eligible for break housing if they hold an on or off campus job that is not directly associated with a credit-bearing academic program)

ALL students who meet the criteria MUST apply for break housing online, before 5pm on Monday, February 27, 2012. 

Residence Halls will re-open on: Sunday, March 18th, 2012 at Noon (CDT); Please plan your travel plans accordingly.  Students are strongly encouraged to take home valuables or items they will need over break. The University cannot take responsibility for damage or theft of any items left in your room.
