Katie Bye

Biography: 

Katie Bye joined Valpo in July of 2016. She pursued her undergraduate degree in Tourism and her graduate degree in College Student Personnel Administration from the University of Central Missouri. Katie has over ten years of experience in Higher Education, beginning with her time as an International Student Coordinator at Rockhurst University, before transitioning to Western Michigan University as a Hall Director, and culminating with her placement here at Valparaiso University. She began her journey here as a Residential Learning Coordinator, then was the Assistant Director for Staffing and Programming before accepting her current role of Director.

There are many things that inspire Katie, but the ones that are at the forefront for her are nature, family, a clean house, and her colleagues and the Valpo students.

In her spare time, Katie enjoys organizing spaces in her house, running around with her toddler, and visiting farmer’s markets with her family. She is always planning a trip and cannot wait to travel the world with her husband and daughter.

Favorite Location on Campus: 

Katie loves taking walks around campus and grabbing a coffee from Grinders on a fall day.
