Honor Society

The social work department has an established chapter of the Phi Alpha Honor Society, the national honor society of social work. The Lota Lambda chapter recognizes students who have completed 9 semester hours of required social work courses or at least 37.5% of the total hours/credits required for the degree, rank in the top 35% of their class, and are in their third or fourth year of the social work major. Potential members are identified who exemplify the characteristics of consummate social work professionals involved in the community and university. Along with honoring the inductees, the induction ceremony also includes recognition of a regional social worker.
