Enjoy perusing a few of the pictures illustrating the relationships, opportunities, and activities in which Valparaiso University Social Work students participate. Our program provides a variety of direct professional experiences. Well, some are more directly professional than others. Students are involved in experiential learning through the “ropes course," interviews with international students, a trip to the Indiana capital to meet with legislators, judges, and other policy professionals. Through all these activities (and a few others) we are reminded of the social work value that relationships are the prime mechanisms of change for clients. They are also mechanisms of change (and fun, and growth, and creativity, and fatigue) for students as well.
We are very proud of the accomplishments of our students. They have an excellent reputation for their preparedness, initiative, and willingness to learn. Consequently employers seek them out and our placement rate in graduate school is nearly 100%, often at the nation's most prominent graduate programs.
