Criminology Clubfingerprint

The Valparaiso University Criminology Club was started by students who have a passion for law enforcement and wanted a club where they could talk about their related interests.  Many of the students involved in the current Criminology club knew that they had an interest in some form of law enforcement but were not yet sure how that interest would lead to a specific career choice.  The Criminology Club assists students in learning about law enforcement as it stands today.  This not only prepares students for careers in the Criminal Justice system, but also gives them a better understanding of what their interests are within the field.

In order to explore their various interests the club has booked several speakers on topics such as polygraph administration, working at the federal level, and getting the most out of internship experiences.  The club has also organized field trips for its members.  One such field trip was to the Lake County Coroner’s office.

Anyone who has any interest in crime or the criminal justice system should look into joining the group.  There are no requirements to have a specific academic major.  Senior members of the Crim Club have completed their internship requirements for the Criminology B.A and typically use that knowledge to help secure speakers and field trips as well as assist undergraduates with the set- up of their own internships.
