While work, volunteer, and other life experiences are encouraged and enhance student development and enrich learning, no academic credit can be given for social work courses or field education requirements.

Students are required to maintain an overall grade point average of 2.5 in all required social work courses.  Adherance to the NASW Code of Ethcis and liability insurance for field practice are required.

The Double Major:

When planned early on in the undergraduate academic experience, many students successfully pursue a double major with Social Work.  Most common second majors include: Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Spanish, Theology, Family and Youth Ministry, Deaconness Program, and International Service.  The options are endless!

Minor:

A minimum of 15 credit hours in social work constitutes a minor.  These credits may be selected from SOCW 151, 210, 220, 240, 330, and 390.
