As a graduate of Valparaiso University who met his wife
here, Tim Stellfox ’84, now a region manager for Valvoline, is always eager to
return to the campus to recruit new employees.
“I appreciate the quality of the students, and the
university itself, and know how well prepared the students are,” said Stellfox.
“When I had the opportunity to do interviews for new hires, one of the places I
first wanted to come to was Valpo.” Valparaiso University’s Career Center hosted its annual Fall
Career Fair on Oct.7, allowing employers to connect with Valpo students eager
to find work and/or an internship. “I just wanted to experience the fair and see what different
opportunities are out there in the different fields of nursing,” said Nicole
Sanhamel, a junior nursing major. “The Career Fair has been great to me,” said Taylor Deloye,
a junior marketing major. “I am trying to branch out and do a little bit of
networking and see what is our there for me.” Tom Cath, director of the Career Center, said that the more
nearly 600 students who attended the fair were able to make connections that
could lead to future employment. “This is an opportunity for the students to learn more about
what they might want to do,” said Cath. “The fair also allows employers
visibility here on campus to find the bright young talent they can find here at
Valpo.” More information about Valpo’s Career Center is available
