The Residence Halls will Close Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Noon.

All residents must checkout within 24-hours of their last final exam or Wednesday at Noon, whichever is earlier.

Extended Stay Requests:

Extended stay housing is available for residents after this time who meet the following criteria and have requested an extended stay by May 6th, 2013:

• International or INTERLINK Students
• VU athletes in season with practice and/or games
• Students who are graduating from Valparaiso University
• Siblings of graduating seniors who attend Valparaiso University
• Students who are officially helping with graduation ceremonies (band, orchestra,  choral, usher, etc.)
• Students who are registered for Summer Session I and living in University-operated summer housing
• Student workers whom are essential for campus operations

If you do not meet any of the above criteria for Extended Stay Housing, you may submit a request based on an "Other" type of reason.  PLEASE NOTE that if you are approved for Extended Stay Housing for reasons outside of the above criteria, you will be charged a $25 per night fee for utilizing University Extended Stay Housing.

ALL students who meet the criteria and require extended stay housing MUST complete the Extended stay request form by Monday, May 6th, 2013.

Limited storage is available for residents who are international students or who live 500 miles or more from the University.

Summer housing will be available in Memorial Hall for Summer 2013.  Summer housing applications are now available and are due to the Office of Residential Life (Harre Union 250) by Friday, April 26.  To complete an application, click here.

If you did not get the building and/or room you wanted via the Online Room Selection process, all hope is not lost. You may submit a Room Change Request Form.  If you would like to request a single room for the 2013-2014 academic year, you may make that request via this same online form.

To request a room change or single for Fall 2013, you must have selected a room during the Online Room Selection Process. If you have not selected a room for the Fall 2013, then contact the Office of Residential Life for a housing assignment.

Make Sure that your roommate (REQUESTED OR CURRENT) also submits a room change request form. ROOMMATE REQUESTS MUST BE MUTUAL, and on file from all roommates involved in the room change request before a change request can be processed.

Room change requests will be kept on file in the Office of Residential Life and processed throughout the spring and summer as space becomes available until July 30, 2013, at which time all outstanding request forms will be discarded.  

If the Office of Residential Life is able to accommodate your request, you will be notified via your Valpo.edu email address.
